Dental bridges are another restorative dental service that helps replace missing teeth. A dental crown is placed on top of the bridge to restore functionality to the missing teeth.

What services are included in cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry refers to any dental care service that restores the appearance of your teeth. West Village Dental Care offers Zoom! teeth whitening, Invisalign, and dental veneers as part of our cosmetic dentistry services.

Teeth Whitening

Is teeth whitening safe?
Store bought do-it-yourself teeth whitening kits can be damaging to your teeth if overused, however, professional teeth whitening services are completely safe and will restore whiteness to your teeth in one session.

Dental Veneers

What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are wafer thin pieces of porcelain that fit over the top of your front teeth to provide protection and restore the appearance of your teeth.
What are veneers made of?
The veneers we use here at West Village Dental Care are made out of porcelain because it better mimics the light reflecting properties of teeth and is stain resistant.

Dental Implants

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are screws that are placed in your jaw bone if the root of a tooth is missing or has been extracted.
What are dental implants made of?
Typically, dental implants are made of a titanium alloy which helps promote bone growth and prevents bone decay caused by missing teeth.
How long does the procedure take?
Dental implants require two or three surgeries to place. Typically, the time frame for the entire procedure is a little more than six months.

General and Family Dentistry

What is general dentistry?
General dentistry is an umbrella term for all major dental care services including those we offer here at West Village Dental Care.
When should I begin taking my child to the dentist?
It is recommended that children should begin visiting the dentist regularly starting at the age of 7, however, many pediatric dentists are available to keep track of your child’s oral development starting at six months old.

Invisalign

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign braces are a set of clear aligners that are manufactured specifically for your teeth and are used to correct spacing issues, misaligned teeth, and many other dental care needs.
Is Invisalign better than metal braces?
Some patients require metal braces, but for some patients, Invisalign can be just as effective. It’s best to consult Dr. Mei about whether you need metal braces or if Invisalign will be sufficient.

Sedation Dentistry

What types of sedation are offered?
We offer three forms of sedation dentistry here at West Village Dental Care; nitrous oxide, an oral sedative, and intravenous sedation.

Dentures

When are dentures required?
Dentures are recommended when the majority of teeth are missing or have become damaged or weakened to the point that they need extraction. Dentures will restore functionality to your mouth.

TMJ

What is TMD?
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, TMD, is an umbrella term for any type of joint pain around the muscles that move the jaw and temporomandibular joint.
What are my treatment options for TMD?
TMD is treatable through TMD therapy where hot and cold packs may be applied, over the counter medication may be prescribed, or lifestyle changes may be advised.
